Toilet paper. You can't live without it. Even though toilet paper is a must-have in every bathroom, I've yet to come up with a pretty way to store toilet paper, beyond chrome tubes that hide a stack of toilet paper in a container that looks like it might also be hiding a toilet brush to clean the toilet. Imagine cleaning a toilet and then going to put that brush away, only to ruin half dozen rolls of toilet paper. Yuck.
To avoid such indelicate mishaps, in my house currently I keep the toilet paper in a cabinet, behind opaque doors. But that's about to chance, now that I've just picked up a few toilet paper covers that could be works of art, in and of themselves.
These toilet paper cover designs are courtesy of toilet paper maker Cottonelle, which enlisted world-renowned designer Jonathan Adler, known for his cheeky and energetic designs in home decor and his work with industrial design guru Michael Graves. The toilet paper covers, which feature retro-chic colors and designs, could easily double as mini cookie jars. Instead, their primary purpose is practical—to store, hold, and cover extra rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom.
The new line of roll covers arrived right around New Year's and are being promoted as a way to help homeowners, who may have resolved to get organized, find a fun way to get their bathrooms neat and looking nifty. Sound like something you'd like to add to your bathroom in 2012? Well, here's how you can do that.
These toilet paper covers are available exclusively through the Cottonelle Respect the Roll website. However, you can score a free cover by looking for an offer code in specially marked packages of Cottonelle Clear Care Toilet Paper. After entering that code on the Respect the Roll website, all you'll need to do to get your free toilet paper cover is cover shipping and handling—only $1.99. You may also purchase the toilet paper covers directly from the website, without a coupon code, for $2 per cover, plus the $1.99 shipping and handling charge.
Cottonelle sent me the three covers, each a different design. They are Chevron Pink, Barjello Blue (a turquoise), and Clover Green. Now I've got one for each of my bathrooms and all I have to do is figure out which bathroom gets which color toilet paper holder.
Cottonelle says that these toilet paper covers are available as a limited edition only. I don't know about you but I hope they make these toilet paper holders a permanent part of their product collection and maybe even start selling them at national stores. These definitely have the potential to become very popular for anyone (like me) who always wanted an attractive solution for storing, yet hiding, those extra rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom!
