50 Time-Saving Tips for Kitchens, Bathrooms, Closets & More From Highly Efficient Women

Recently I asked several smart, busy, efficient individuals for time saving tips. My own favorite timesaver is flossing my teeth two at a time by working the floss between between the backmost teeth on each side simultaneously. I capture each pair of teeth this way until I get near the front where I floss one at a time. My other favorite is useful if you have a nursery-school age grandchild or child; if you put the young one to sleep in her overalls, she'll be all ready to go to pre- school when she wakes up.

Boiling Water

  • Use 2 pots with lids or one pot and a hot water kettle.
  • Heat half the amount of water needed in each. A lid on the pot saves both time and power.
  • Contrary to myth, cold water does not boil faster than hot; however, especially if you have any lead in your pipes, it is generally advisable to start with cold water.
