When Meryl Streep and husband Don Gummer, a sculptor, were first married they lived in Los Angeles and New York City. Meryl Streep decided she wanted to raise her four children in more normal surroundings, so these days Meryl Streep's celebrity house is in northwestern Connecticut, close to both the New York and Massachusetts borders. This location makes it a quick drive to Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, Meryl Streep's alma mater and also the school where her daughters Grace Gummer and Louisa Gummer have attended.
