Cooking: In the Kitchen, Making Savory Meals With my Daughter

My 24-year-old daughter Sabrina and I have been cooking together ever since she was old enough to sit up; playtime often took place in the kitchen. Whatever I hadn’t learned about cooking from my mom, I’ve learned from my daughter. And from Giada de Laurentiis. Some recipes I share with you here. See the last slide for links to more great recipes.

Cooking: In the Kitchen With my Daughter, Making Adobo Chicken

You can cook adobo chicken with a variety of parts; we used 10 legs. Sabrina marinates the legs, ideally for an hour or more, in soy sauce, vinegar (she uses apple cider), 3 teaspoons sugar, a bit of vegetable oil, 2 bay leaves, cracked pepper and diced garlic cloves, using the same pot she'll use to cook.

As usual, measurements are to taste. Make enough of the marinade to nearly cover the chicken. Then cook covered on medium to low heat until done, around 40 minutes.
