Hot Water Heater

No one thinks about buying a new water heater as part of their maintenance planning. However, if yours is a bit older, you can help it to run more efficiently, thus extending its life. If the hot water heater is warm to the touch, it could be losing heat as it stores hot water--meaning it has to work harder and use more energy. Considering wrapping the water heater in an insulated blanket to keep the heat in. The only caveat: don't do this if your water heater has a pilot light as you risk starting a fire.
