Protect your standing knee by keeping it slightly bent throughout the sequences.
If you can’t breathe, STOP! Yogis use breathing to alert them if they are at risk.
You can get some intense yoga stretches on the stairs. So don't go too far too fast. Take it real slowly. If you are having a hard time breathing, it's a sign you should ease off enough so that you can easily breathe deeply.
Feel stretch in the back of your front hamstring (thigh). You might also feel it in your calf. If you exercise a lot—and if you sit a lot—this area gets tight.
Use whichever stair is most comfortable.
